On Sunday I shot photos of my friend Nicole spinning fire. For some things, still photos could never do justice to how cool they look when they're moving, unfortunately I think fire spinning is one of those things.

I'm very lucky to have an amazing group of friends here in Sarasota. They have become my local family. On Sunday, my future roommate Leo had "the family" over for dinner with his mom, who is in town from Venezuela. He cooked a fabulous Venezuelan fish stew, complete with Snook he caught himself. There's nothing better than good friends and good food. P.S. I love my new canon 5d.

First Post

I figured the start of my freelance career was as good a time as any to start a blog. Friday, Sept 21 was my last day as a staff photographer for the Herald-Tribune. Since leaving my staff job I find myself wanting to take pictures for myself which is a really nice change and something I haven't done in a long time. So, that's where this blog comes in. I hate to have the pictures just sit on my hard drive never getting seen by anyone.
